Doori Na

Doori Na began violin studies at the age of four and made his solo debut with orchestra at the age of seven with the Peninsula Youth Symphony.  A winner of numerous competitions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, he performed with the Palisades Symphony, Brentwood Symphony, Freemont Symphony, and the Torrance Symphony. Doori has given solo recitals in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. An avid chamber musician, he has collaborated with artists including Itzhak Perlman, Roger Tapping, and Merry Peckham.

Currently living in New York City, Doori has performed with many different ensembles around the city ranging from Classical and New Music to Jazz. Recent highlights include being a part of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra’s European tour with acclaimed jazz pianist, Brad Mehldau. Other jazz experiences include participating in Chick Corea’s album, The Continents, released by Deutsche Grammophon. Doori is also a violin soloist for the New Chamber Ballet and will tour Germany with the company this fall along with many other concerts in New York City.

Doori is enrolled as a Masters of Music student at The Juilliard School where he studies with Itzhak Perlman, Catherine Cho, and Donald Weilerstein and holds the Dorothy Delay Scholarship. He is concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra, and was chosen to travel to Sào Paulo, Brazil in 2012 where he gave master classes and performed for students.
